The Cancer Association Of Zimbabwe
The Cancer Association of Zimbabwe (Cancer Centre) is a non profit making organization which was started in 1961. The Cancer Association in Harare was formed by a group of cancer survivors and volunteers in a bid to support each other morally, emotionally, spiritually and physically following cancer diagnosis.
Since the beginning of this noble service, the Cancer Association has continued to grow in providing cancer support services and cancer awareness programmes to patients, their families and the wider community.
The Cancer Association is run by team of board members who have expertise in various areas pertaining to the operations of the organization. The board members give policy direction to the organization, whilst the health professionals and volunteers at the centre are responsible for the day to day running of the institution.
The Cancer Association of Zimbabwe is committed to raising cancer awareness and improving the quality of life of patients and their families
To collectively reduce the disease burden due to cancer through promotion of action research , education , supportive counseling , advocacy and other evidence based interventions taking a holistic approach
